Summer Reading Programs begin June 7

Registrations for our summer reading programs will begin on Monday, June 7. We have programs for all ages this summer - kids, teens, and adults! Stop in to sign up, call, and call or email if you need more information.

The Theme this summer is Tales and Tails. Our main goal has always been to keep kids reading all summer long, and this year is no exception. We may not have a lot of programs, but we have activities, incentives and prizes planned to encourage reading and writing this summer. Many studies have proven that reading over the summer months will prevent children and young adults from "summer slide" (learning loss). Any amount of consistent reading during the break will let kids start the new school year where they left off academically in spring. Make it a family rule or goal to set aside time to read this summer! It will relieve stress, keep the brain active, improve reading skills and imagination, and most of all . . . it's FUN!
