With the revised order from Governor Tony Evers taking effect Friday, April 24, Montello Public Library will begin offering curbside service to our patrons the week of Monday, April 27th. We will not be able to offer fax, email, or scanning services. On Monday April 27, we will begin processing holds for materials belonging to Montello Public Library only. Meaning, if we own it here and it is available on our shelves, the items can be reserved for curbside pickup at a designated time.
Many of you have read/heard about Gov. Evers exception to the updated Safer at Home order for public libraries. With specific restrictions, curbside pickup of books and other library materials will be allowed after April 24. At this time (with recommendations from Winnefox Library System and the local and state Health Departments), I am working on a plan that will be safe for me and my staff, that will also be able to serve our community.
With the latest order from the Governor and the Department of Health Services, the library will remain closed until at least April 24, 2020, to try and help "flatten the curve" during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rest assured that we are working behind the scenes; cleaning, organizing, starting new projects, until we can get back open to serve you! We miss you all! Please "like" our facebook page for online resources, Stay at Home Storytime, and helpful information for you and your family during these trying times. Stay well!
The Montello Public Library will be closed, effective at 5pm on Tuesday, March 17, to re-open April 6 if conditions have improved. There will be no programming or events during this time. By closing, we are following the lead of the school district, along with Executive Orders from the Governor and recommendations from the Wisconsin Library Association. This hard decision was made in order to protect our staff and patrons from unnecessary virus exposure.
